Concert Series (Part 3): September 26 (7pm - 9pm) 2014

An Triúr is an Irish traditional and sometimes not so traditional acoustic collection made up of multi-instrumentalist musicians and recording artists from the Gainesville area. An Triúr usually features the traditional instruments and music of Ireland with new and exciting and sometimes quite quirky arrangements as only they can come up with.  An Triúr plays concertinas, whistles, flutes, bodhrans, accordions, guitars, banjo, bouzuki, and the bagpipes of Ireland: the uilleann pipes. The music they play is Irish Traditional music, some of which dates back hundreds of years.

Over many years, the members of An Triúr have individually traveled throughout Ireland and the U.S. to learn the oral musical tradition from the revered and seasoned masters who themselves had the music passed down to them from their parents and grandparents.  Working to help preserve and pass on the great tradition, An Triúr has organized and taught at workshops, musical gatherings, and schools, appeared in several festivals and concert halls throughout the southeast, and have played alongside or with such luminaries as the Chieftains, Flogging Molly, and Black 47 among others.
